Roush Fenway Welcomes Back Jack with Strong Team Effort at Michigan

BROOKLYN, Aug. 16, 2010: Roush Fenway Racing welcomed owner Jack Roush back to the track in strong fashion, placing all four of its Sprint Cup cars inside the top 11 and three of the four cars inside the top five in Sunday’s Carfax 400 at Michigan International Speedway.

“It is great,” said Carl Edwards after the race. “We really wanted to get a win for (Jack Roush) today, but that is a strong performance for us and for Ford. It meant a lot to perform that well for him today.”

Edwards led the way at the finish line for Roush Fenway with a strong third-place showing. Greg Biffle dominated the majority of the event, leading a race-high 66 laps en route to his fourth-place run. Matt Kenseth posted his 100th career top-five finish with a fifth-place run, and David Ragan - who also led in the race - rounded out the Roush Fenway effort with an 11th-place finish.

It was a strong points day for Roush Fenway, with Edwards moving up two spots to sixth (tied with Jeff Burton for the spot) in the Sprint Cup point standings. Kenseth moved up one spot to ninth and Biffle held steady at 11th. With only three races remaining before the Chase cutoff point after Richmond, three Roush Fenway cars are inside the 12-car cutoff point and all three hold at least a 193 point advantage over 13th position.

Edwards, who celebrated his 31st birthday on Sunday, has now finished sixth or better in six consecutive races. Biffle has finished top five in three of the last four races.

The Sprint Cup Series travels to Bristol, Tenn. next weekend for one of the most exciting events on the schedule, Bristol Motor Speedway under the lights.
