Trois-Rivieres, August 14, 2010: Conor Daly proved once again that he is one of the fastest drivers in the 2010 Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear when he nabbed his seventh pole position of the season in this afternoon's qualifying session at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres in Quebec, Canada. In this morning's final practice session, the 18-year-old Indiana-native generated a fastest lap time of 1:01.303 which would have broken the current track record set by teammate Rusty Mitchell in 2009 had it qualified for an official lap record time (only qualifying and race lap times count towards official records.) Mitchell, however, still officially holds the fastest lap record at the historic Trois-Rivieres street circuit with a lap time of 1:01.341 while Daly now holds a dominant seventy percent of this season's pole position wins-two impressive feats for two of the Juncos Racing drivers.

"The Juncos Racing team did a fantastic job yet again," said Daly. "We had a really good car throughout the practice session yesterday and also in this morning's session. I really, really like this track. It's a lot of fun and the atmosphere is fantastic. Last year I had a bit of a tough weekend, so I want to rebound this year by doing as well as we can. We are doing well so far, so hopefully we can make a win happen in the race tomorrow."

Teammate Rusty Mitchell was unable to match his qualifying efforts of 2009, when he won his first and sole career pole at this circuit, due to an engine problem that arose during qualifying. Mitchell started to lose power and as a result, the young Texan will not only start tomorrow's race in 13th position, but the team will now have to replace yet another engine in the #66 Juncos Racing/Motorola/Petro Comm./HRP Racing Products/Texas Autosports car.

"Qualifying started out well," said Mitchell. "But then the engine blew, and I started to lose power. It's tough for the team because they are going to have to change another engine now. It's been a frustrating weekend so far, but the only thing that really matters is the race, so I'm going to focus on that now. Everybody on Juncos Racing is working hard now to get this engine problem resolved, so I want to thank them for that and also congratulate my teammate (Conor Daly) for getting yet another pole this year."

Rookie Tatiana Calderon entered this weekend in Canada fresh off her best race weekend of the year two weeks ago at Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, Illinois where she achieved both her best race result of the year of seventh as well as her best qualifying result of the year of seventh. The 17-year-old Colombian driver was eager to deliver an even better result in this afternoon's qualifying and perhaps pushed a little too hard in an effort to do so. Calderon will start tomorrow's race in 14th position on row seven alongside teammate Rusty Mitchell.

"Both practice sessions went really well for me," said Calderon. "I think I overdrove the car in qualifying which caused me to not do as well as I had hoped, but regardless, the car was really good and really consistent. I think for the race it's going to be really good, and I hope a can gain lot of positions tomorrow like I did in the first race at Autobahn Country Club."
