Tim George Jr. returns to his Road Racing Roots at New Jersey Motorsports
Mooresville, N.C. (August 13, 2010)-This
weekend's event at New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) marks the second
visit to a road course for the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX
and Menards Series this season, and the road racing run couldn't have
come at a better time for Tim George Jr. Though the Garden State ARCA
150 presented by American Red Cross will mark his second run in a stock
car on the road course at NJMP, his past success at the track proves
George as one of the top contenders. For Sunday's 150-mile/67-lap
event, George will be behind the wheel of the No.31 Richard Childress
Racing Development Chevrolet for RCR.

Matching up to the
top competitors in road racing, George has an ample amount of road racing experience.
He's run
on numerous road courses in not only the ARCA Racing Series, but also in the
Grand Am Rolex GT Series and earlier this season debuting in NASCAR Nationwide
Series at Road America.

Last season George made his stock car debut at the road course, starting 31st after
he was unable to qualify as the result of an accident during the final practice
session. He went on to score his 2009 season-best finish, fifth place, on the 2.3-mile
road course at NJMP.
The
now second year full-time ARCA Racing Series veteran, George knows his
way around the New Jersey road course. With a background in road
racing, he competed at New Jersey Motorsports Park in 2008 while in the
Grand-Am Rolex GT Series, and took home the victory with then teammate
Andy Lally.
"New
Jersey Motorsports Park is a great place," said George. "I competed in
one of the first races there with the Rolex Series, where our team won
in 2008. Last year, the ARCA Racing Series race was good as well, and I
came home fifth. After the rain at West Palm Beach this year, I'm
hoping to have a good shot at a road course win."
Not
only is New Jersey Motorsports Park the site of the 2008 Grand Am Rolex
GT Series Rookie of the Year's first victory, but it also the New York
native's home track.
Though disappointed with the past few ARCA Racing Series finishes, George can reflect
on the season positively. To date this season, he has scored career-best finishes,
but this weekend the 29-year-old heads to New Jersey with confidence.
Fans
attending the New Jersey Motorsports Park race can meet the RCR
development driver before the start of the Garden State ARCA 150. Fans
will have a half hour to attend the ARCA Racing Series Driver Autograph
Session on Sunday, August 14 at 11:45 a.m. EST.
George
will climb behind the wheel of the No. 31 Chevrolet at New Jersey
Motorsports Park on Saturday for two practice sessions starting at
11:15 AM EST, followed by Menards Pole Qualifying Presented by Ansell
(all positions) at 4:30 PM EST. The Garden State ARCA 150 presented by
American Red Cross is set for Sunday, August 14 at 1:00 PM EST.
