Hundreds of Powersports Retailers and 15 Lucky Customers Cash In with First-Ever Revive Your Ride! Sweepstakes

IRVINE, Calif.--Hundreds of powersports retailers and 15 lucky contestants nationwide are cashing in this summer with the Revive Your Ride! Sweepstakes, the first industry-wide marketing campaign designed to increase retail traffic to powersports dealers and retailers. Funded exclusively by the Motorcycle Industry Council’s aftermarket members, the sweepstakes awarded 15 winners a total of $25,000 to spend on motorcycle or ATV-related products at participating powersports dealers.

“We spent just $25 to get the Revive Your Ride! Sweepstakes kit and we stand a good chance that Jim will spend all his money at our shop, so it was a low-cost, high-return promotion for us.”

Nearly 4,000 customers picked up entry cards by visiting one of 240 participating dealers. Jim Aldridge of Simpson, Kan., won the $10,000 grand prize after stopping in at California Phil’s in nearby Concordia, Kansas.

“We’re certainly excited that the grand prize winner was one of our customers, but more important to us was the bump in floor traffic thanks to the Revive Your Ride! Sweepstakes,?? said owner Phil Sudduth of California Phil’s. “We spent just $25 to get the Revive Your Ride! Sweepstakes kit and we stand a good chance that Jim will spend all his money at our shop, so it was a low-cost, high-return promotion for us.??

Launched in November by the MIC Aftermarket Committee, the program aims to help dealers and retailers create compelling reasons for motorcycle and ATV customers to visit their stores.

Revive Your Ride! is the first collective aftermarket effort designed to highlight special dealership sales, incentives and activities to consumers across the nation. By encouraging customers to accessorize and service machines that may have been used infrequently, and update their riding gear, the campaign stimulates all aspects of the powersports industry. It builds awareness that now is the time to buy as retailers are offering generous deals on full stocks of great products and have plenty of expert staff to offer advice and provide assistance.

Revive Your Ride! program support, marketing materials and event ideas are available to powersports retailers 24/7, free of charge at mic.org/reviveyourride.

“The Revive Your Ride! Sweepstakes was intended to draw attention to products that are right for the times,?? said Frank Esposito, MIC Aftermarket Committee chairman. “With the recession affecting consumer confidence and income, priorities have shifted. People say that they want to spend more time with loved ones on experiences that really matter. Riding with family and friends can be the perfect solution. And for some, there is an extra 'feel good' benefit since commuting on a bike can also save time, money and the environment.??
