Audi Centre Parramatta Is Officially Opened
ZETLAND, AUSTRALIA – Aug 11, 2010: The new Audi Centre Parramatta terminal facility has celebrated its official opening on Church Street, Parramatta.
The new Audi Centre Parramatta facility, built at a cost of $9 million, is the first of its kind in Western Sydney to follow Audi’s global ‘terminal’ style of architecture.
The facility is owned and operated by Sydney businessman, Ian Pagent, with business partner, son Nick Pagent, and is the second Audi dealership to be built by the pair, following the construction of Audi Five Dock in 2008.
Construction of the $9 million Audi Centre Parramatta facility began in September 2009, by renowned property builders, Taylors Construction, and was completed in just nine months. Located in ‘Auto Alley’ Church Street at Parramatta, the new facility reflects the German premium Audi brand’s visionary, modular architectural concept for high-density locations – known as the Audi terminal.
“This new showroom highlights the Audi brand’s ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’, or innovation through technology, with the latest architectural features,” said Nick Pagent.
The new Audi Centre Parramatta will also offer the highest level of Audi brand experience for its customers.
“We want to give our customers every opportunity to satisfy their own personal requirements. This is why every Audi is something special and is usually a few vital steps ahead of its time,” Pagent added.
Audi Australia’s managing director, Mr Uwe Hagen, said the new 40 car showroom is a clear reflection of the strength of the Audi brand in Australia.
“Our brand is growing steadily and sustainably in Australia. With their considerable investment in this new facility, it is clear that Ian and Nick Pagent have a lot of faith in the Audi brand to continue our successful run here,” Mr Hagen said.
“I applaud their commitment to Audi and their vision in investing in the future of the brand. It is important that such a great brand, with exciting and emotional new products can be represented around the country in suitably premium and impressive facilities, like the new Audi Centre Parramatta.”
Audi’s terminal style of architecture is based around the theme of dynamism. Simultaneously curved and arched features such as the windows and interior surfaces in the new 1,700 square metre building at Parramatta reflect this theme, and is also supported by the product on display.
Key brand values for Audi include ‘sportiness’ and ‘progressiveness’ which are borne out by the layering of curved and arched surfaces to create spaciousness, along with the use of transparent and opaque glass and frameless windows.
The unique canted and perforated, honeycombed aluminium facade of the building reinforces the sophistication and understated design elegance of the Audi brand. It also points to the brand’s long history of aluminium expertise practiced in both the construction of its vehicles, and through the use of lightweight technologies and materials to reduce consumption.
