Robertson Motorsports In Force at Bowman Gray:
Local Team Fields Five Cars Across Three Generations Saturday

Winston-Salem, NC: Much of the 15,000+ crowd at historic Bowman Gray Stadium this weekend turned out to see the Whelen Southern Modified Tour come to town. However, they got an eye-full of Robertson Motorsports across the other divisions this weekend.

Robertson Motorsports started five cars Saturday night across the Sportsman and Stadium Sock divisions, covering three generations of a family that has been a force at Bowman Gray Stadium for nearly 50 years.

Gerald Robertson, the family patriarch, has had a strong season in the Stadium Stock division, and qualified and finished in third place Saturday night in the #72 Carolina Wood Floors Chevrolet. The 70 year old is currently 6th in points standings among 81 drivers that have competed at the stadium in the division this season.

Sons Mike Robertson (owner of Robertson Motorsports) and Bryant Robertson competed side by side in the 40 lap Sportsman race. Bryant has been running the full season at the stadium, started 9th but was caught in a wreck on lap 2. A quick repair got the #36 Carolina Wood Floors/Winston-Salem State Motorsport Management Chevrolet back on the track to finish 16th. Saturday was Mike Robertson's first time racing at the stadium this season, and although he started last in the field of 24, he finished in 10th place.

Third generation driver Ryan Robertson who had been leading the points standings at the stadium thru mid-season, started the Sportsman race in 11th position in the #23 Law Offices of Timothy D. Welborn/Make-A-Wish Chevrolet, and gained positions quickly. Robertson was in 5th position when he cut a right rear tire, and finished 13th for the night. The youngest Robertson maintains his second place overall points standing.

Scott Hall also fielded an entry with Robertson Motorsports Saturday night in the #36 Carolina Wood Floors/Make-A-Wish Chevrolet. Hall started 18th in the Sportsman division race and finished 7th.

"It was great to have everyone out there and at the track racing together," said team owner Mike Robertson. "It's the kind of family time we all really enjoy. I'm so proud of everyone this season. To see my Dad having a great year too is really a lot of fun for us." For the latest news visit www.RyanRobertsonRacing.com.
