Archie Hamilton (19), Basingstoke made another trip onto the Porsche Carrera
Cup podium today, this time for a third place in ProAm1 in the first race of
the day. He has moved up to fourth in the ProAm1 class standings.

Saturday's qualifying was more than close with Archie's time of 1:09.881
identical to his teammate Ahmed Al Harty, putting them side by side on the
grid. Archie had one of his best starts of the season, gaining three places
and third in class. Archie then was pushed wide and dropped back to fifth.
After Gelzinis and Meadows tangled ahead Archie moved back to fourth and
regained third by passing classmate Leonard with an inside corner manoeuvre.

The second race was a tougher battle with Archie dropping to sixth in class
at the start but swiftly making back the lost position but passing Al Harty
on the inside of turn two. Progress was made on the following lap by passing
Michael Leonard but after flat spotting the tyres on lap five of the 24 lap
race the car became difficult to handle and Archie had no choice but to
maintain the best pace possible with the limitations and take the points for
fourth.

Archie Hamilton:

"It's been a very close weekend and I'm really pleased to have moved up in
the championship. It's really important to consistently score points and
it's been a good weekend for that. Our aim is to keep getting consistent
podiums and that all important ProAm1 win. The next round's at Silverstone
which I love so I'll carry on learning and hopefully scoring the points.
Podiums and the elusive win would be a big bonus if they happen."

Archie's next event takes place at Silverstone, Northamptonshire on 21st and
22nd August. For further information and high resolution images please
