"We've done our homework, know this track well and are as prepared as we can be," declared Rod Everett, Falken team manager. The performance tire company continues to develop its Porsche 911 GT3 RSR with Porsche Works and Falken team driver Wolf Henzler, and his partner, team driver Bryan Sellers.
At Mid-Ohio, the Porsche will compete on specially prepared Falken Azenis RT Slicks and race against both Le Mans Prototypes and the crowded GT field during the 2-hour, 45-minute event on Saturday, August 7. Mid-Ohio has always been a demanding road course with its multiple elevations and high speed straightaways that turn into tight corners. Qualifying is set for Friday, August 6, as ALMS shares the spotlight with the Indy Racing League, which races on Sunday.
"It's important to our company to be racing in ALMS and waving our corporate colors," stated Andrew Hoit, Director of Marketing, Falken Tire. "We are looking forward to a great weekend, enjoying the hospitality of a wonderful track, having our Spokesmodels mingle with the crowd, handing out Falken swag, and moving up the results ladder."
Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course characteristically marks the start of the ALMS' championship run. The venue is the first of three races in a four-week span, which take the teams to Road America and then into Canada to Mosport, and culminating in the season finale, Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta, September 29-October 2.
