Vettel leads 6th Red Bull 1-2 in Hungary qualifying

BUDAPEST, Humgary- While dominating the first qualifying session, and his teammate Mark Webber the next, Sebastian Vettel recorded a one minute, 18 second lap to give his Red Bull team their sixth 1-2 front row result  of the year and their fourth in a row for Sunday’s Grand Prix of Hungary at the Hungaroring. Fernando Alonso took third for Ferrari.
“It was a very good day for us.?? Said Vettel. “We were comfortable with the car all weekend. It was a difficult session, and there is not much you can do with the car, and I am happy to be on pole. It means a lot for us and we should have a good start, and hopefully a good race.??
While the newer teams failed to advance past the first session, Jenson Button and Michael Schumacher were the surprises of the day, failing to advance to the final round, with the current World Champion just missing out, placing 11th. Vettel took the opportunity o to improve his time late in the final session, but missed out the chance on the 2.8 mile twisty circuit.
Felipe Massa, who was hurt last year when a piece of metal from another car struck the Brazilian, recovered well by placing fourth, while last year’s winner, Lewis Hamilton was fifth. Nico Rosberg took sixth for Mercedes, while Vitaly Petrov beat his Polish and Renault teammate Robert Kubica for seventh. Pedro De La Rosa and Nico Hulkenberg rounded out the top ten.
Vettel afterwards felt that he got plenty out of the car, and was looking forward to race day.
“It a very good race for us, but the track is very nervous and very bumpy. It is a big challenge, but I feel that we have done a great job and can go to sleep very well tonight.??
