Intersport On The Podium for Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park
After challenging for top spots all season long, #37 Intersport Racing Lemco Mobile AER/Lola team pulled it all together to finish third on the podium at the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park.
"Nothing comes easy in this Series," noted team manager Brian Alder. "The rules package in the American Le Mans Series is very well balanced and you come to every race knowing you have a chance. It's simply a matter of knowing your car's strengths and where you can exploit them."
"We knew this would be a challenging track for us," Alder continued. "While we could maximize our top-end speed on Lime Rock's long front straight, we knew we'd have our hands full with our tire management. Lime Rock is six right turns and one left… that means one tire is getting a heck of a work out."
Tough Break For #89 Quicksilver Oreca FLM09 LMPC
The After qualifying for the outside pole in LMPC, Kyle Marcelli and Brian Wong in the #89 Quicksilver Oreca FLM09 LMPC car suffered a broken drive shaft late in the race.
"We had a really good car," said Marcelli. "Brian did a great job in the early stages and I honestly thought we had a shot to win. We're not sure what cause the failure. Regardless, after the car we had in Lime Rock, I'm feeling very optimistic about Mid-Ohio.
"This was so disappointing," added Brian Wong. "I think Kyle and I are really starting to click with our crew and the car was the strongest it's ever been. Even though we had a mechanical failure, I'm feeling really good about our growth as a team."
