This weekend, Tomy Drissi and his RSR Racing squad will be heading to the Autobahn Country Club Joliet which is a race course, instead of a golf course, but either way, he will be looking to hit a hole-in-one in Round 6 of the 2010 SCCA Pro Racing Trans-Am Series. The Autobahn Country Club Joliet is a private club and great track in the Chicagoland area. The facility is available for rent by private parties, but it also hosts events for various organizations including the SCCA, which will introduce Trans-Am racing this weekend. Situated on 350 acres of gently rolling countryside, the Autobahn Country Club features two challenging road courses that, when combined, create the second longest racing venue in the United States. This weekend, the Trans-Am Series will be competing on the North Circuit, a 1.46 mile, 9-turn permanent road course. Two weeks ago in Toronto, Drissi topped the charts in every session and earned his first pole of the season. The #5 Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps Jaguar XKR seemed to be unstoppable, but an early incident in the race cost him the win he deserved. However, the past is the past, and the future looks bright for the Californian this weekend as a new challenge arises. Drissi currently sits third in the championship point standings, and will be making his 93rdTrans-Am career start in search for his second win this season. "I have never raced at the Autobahn Country Club Joliet before, so I am looking forward to the opportunity," said Drissi. "It looks like it is going to be a tough track; a challenge for anyone who has not been there before. I know I have a good team in RSR and the #5 Wall Street: Money Never SleepsJaguar XKR is strong and has worked well everywhere we have raced so far this season. We have some time with a test day on Thursday, but there is not a lot of time considering all the work that will have to be done. We need to get on it right away and to the front as quick as possible. We are really going to focus hard on these final four races of the season. If we can make it to the top step each race, we still have a good chance to win the championship." The HARRAH'S Autobahn Grand Prix presented by MAZDA Trans-Am race weekend will kick off on Friday, July 30 with two practice sessions.
