ELMSFORD, N.Y.--Brookfield Resource Management, a leading recycling company serving the New York and Chicago metropolitan markets, today announced the acquisition of Salient Auto Salvage, a Bronx N.Y. auto wrecker and used auto parts company.

This acquisition is part of Brookfield’s overall expansion strategy to take advantage of emerging industry trends. Brookfield added a new operation in the Chicago market in May and purchased a facility in Montrose, N.Y., last year.

Salient Auto Salvage has operated at its 1400 Blondell Ave. location for over 50 years and focuses on auto wrecking and used parts sales. The parts reuse and material recycling operations at the Salient facility is a perfect fit for Brookfield’s overall business model.
