Land Speed Racer Michael Roman Announces 2010 Land Speed Campaign
and the Wounded Warrior Project Special
Kirkwood, MO (July 26, 2010).
Bionic Motorsports and driver Michael Roman are proud to announce the 2010 Land Speed
Campaign of the Wounded Warrior Project Special presented by Boston Scientific and PEAK
Performance Products. Roman and his team are poised once again to make history in a new
class, J/BGL, with the addition of a Steve Johnson Racing power plant and the return of the
multi-record setting crew Wounded Warrior Special Amputee Mike Roman
will once again pilot this state-of-the-art modified lakester race car as he reaches for his sixth
Land Speed Record.
The Wounded Warrior Project Special , sponsored by Boston Scientific, PEAK Performance
Product and Snap-on Tools, kicks off the 2010 race campaign with a Land Speed Test & Tune
from July 30 through August 1 at the Loring Air Force Base in Loring, Maine. Following the
Loring event, Mike and his team attack the J/BGL Land Speed Record at the 2010 Speed Weeks
from August 13 through August 21at the historic Bonneville Salt Flats, where Mike established
the current World Land Speed Record in the J/GL class in 2009.
On behalf of his sponsors, Mike will give over sixty speeches this year highlighting the release of
the documentary . The film follows Mike s journey through chronic pain and
instills hope in others that it is possible to recover and chase your dreams. Mike also
participates in numerous Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Rides and events in support of the
thousands of injured U.S. veterans who are embarking on their own roads to recovery.
