Bachetti Cashes In on $3,000 Plus a Bonus - LVS 7/24/10
Bachetti Scores Win Plus $1,000 Bonus Watson and Routhier Visit Victory Lane Saturday July 24, 2010 By: Rodney Rescott West Lebanon, NY: Another hot and steamy Saturday night at the legendary Valley of Speed. After a brief afternoon rain shower that partially flooded the infield that forced half the teams to park their haulers on the outside of the speedway, the racing finally got underway a little behind schedule. NBT Bank put up another $3,000 to win the 30 lap Modified feature event. On the front row was the #87 of Hector Stratton who darted out to the early lead. Stratton held a strong front line until a restart on lap 16 gave veteran racer Kenny Tremont Jr the opportunity to charge out front and take over the lead. But Tremont’s car just couldn’t stay together long enough as the Kokosa Oil Lap Counter clicked lap 25, Tremont was already pitside with a broken drive shaft. That handed the lead over to the hard charging Andy Bachetti aboard his #34B. Another late race caution just slowed the inevitable as Bachetti drove away from the field and scored the win. Stratton crossed the line 2nd, followed by Brian Berger, Donnie Corellis and Eddie Marshall. The Pro Stock 20 lap feature event saw Jon Routhier finally charge past 15 after giving it up earlier on lap 9 to finally score his first win of 2010. The rest of the top 5 were Jason Casey, Jay Corbin, Chad Jeseo, and Chuck Towslee. In the Sportsman division the #70 of Cullen Howe held off the field until lap 4 as the #22 of Jeff Watson darted out front and stole the show. At the checkers, Watson scores his first win of 2010 followed by Kyle Armstrong, Danny Sanchez, Frank Harper and Brian Sandstedt. In the Pure Stock division, Sean Mandel outlasted the field to score the win in Pure Stock #1. In Pure Stock #2 Doug olds grabbed another win. And in Pure Stock #3, Ray Hall Sr finally tops his son and scores his first win of 2010. Sunday July 25, 2010 the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series returns to the legendary high banks along with 358 Eastern States Automatic Qualifier. Then on Saturday July 31st, its Waste Management and Adirondack Tire “Public Safety Night”. All emergency services personnel will get in for FREE at the front gates! NYSSCA will be on tap as well as a $300 to win Pro Stock Elimination Race. The Budget Sportsman will be on the track as well.
