With the combination of cloud cover and cooler temperatures providing the best conditions of the weekend for the Pro Stock Cars, Line took full advantage, powering through the quarter-mile in 6.993-seconds with a top speed of 197.10 mph to become one of only three drivers to crack the six-second barrier. Encouraged by having matched his best qualifying performance of the season, he then turned his attention on finding a way to the Bandimere Speedway winner’s circle on Sunday. “We finally got closer to where we need to be with our Summit Racing Pontiac on that last run,�?? said Line. “Not only did it make a fairly decent run, it also got us back to having lane choice for the first round, so I’m pretty happy with our performance. We still need to do a little work on the tune-up, and once we do that, we should be in a good position for tomorrow. All in all, I’d have to say it was a pretty good birthday, although it would have been a lot better if my wife and kids were here to celebrate it with me.�??
