SunPods EV Plug-N-Go solar platform fuels electric vehicles at the Clean Tech Open
San Jose, California - SunPods Inc will showcase their solar powered SP-300 EV Plug-N-Go electric vehicle charging station for their return to the Clean Tech Open in San Jose on July 22. The Cleantech Open runs the world's largest clean technology business competition bringing together the best clean technology ideas from around the world.
A SunPods Plug-N-Go unit will be in the parking lot of the conference at the Doubletree hotel fueling electric vehicles with clean renewable solar energy. SunPods personnel will be on site to answer questions and inside the conference exhibit hall.
This is the world's first factory built solar power electric charging station, designed for fast installation on any ground, including pavement. The SP-300 Plug-N-Go arrives complete with EV charging station, solar modules, and inverter to provide immediate power.
As a Clean Tech Open 2009 Finalist in the renewable energy category, SunPods is excited to return to the event and continue the spirit of innovation.
"SunPods' selection as a finalist in the Clean Tech Open benefited us greatly. The learning experience and support of the Clean Tech Open organization, volunteers and sponsors was invaluable. The decision to return this year as successful alumni and participate in the conference was an easy one. Our unique business model is an excellent example of creating change using market available products by re-thinking traditional practices." Said Michael Gumm, Executive Vice President & Co-Founder of Sun Pods Inc.
This strong commitment to innovation has spurred significant growth over the last year. Just this month SunPods moved to a new headquarters and factory located in San Jose. It will soon be hiring personnel for the assembly facility capable of producing up to 1MW of SunPods units per month. The company has worked closely with the City of San Jose to grow within the city limits, working with the City's redevelopment and enterprise programs. It's all a part of San Jose's plan to become the clean tech center of California and SunPods is glad to be a part of it.
