Jeep Posts Highest Sales In Over A Decade
SYDNEY – July 15, 2010: 2010 marks a new high for Jeep in Australia, after recording its highest sales in over a decade. Jeep has sold 3,131 units January to June 2010, a 50 percent increase on the same time period for 2009.
The renowned Jeep Wrangler continues to lead, contributing to almost half of the total units sold, an 85 percent increase year to date on 2009. The capable Cherokee also enjoyed significant growth of nearly 200 percent.
Jeep wasn’t the only success story for 2010. The versatile seven seat Dodge Journey continues to impress, with an increase of over 100 percent for the first half of 2010.
Long awaited 2010 Dodge Nitro and Caliber stock is currently arriving in Australian dealerships, with both vehicles boasting improved features.
The 2010 Caliber has received an all-new interior, with new design, materials and colour schemes. The 2010 Nitro SXT now standard with body coloured rocker sills, front air dam and grill with chrome inserts, features an evolution of the signature Nitro look.
Both the 2010 Caliber and Nitro have received active head restraints for front passenger seats in addition to their current standard safety features.
Dodge sales are set to rise as steady shipments arrive over the second half of 2010.
U.S. Sales Increase By 35 Percent
Chrysler Group LLC recently
reported a U.S. sales increase of 35 percent, versus June 2009, the third
consecutive year-over-year percentage sales improvement and double the
industry’s average percentage increase.
“This 35 percent increase in year-over-year sales shows that we continue to build on our sales momentum,” said Fred Diaz, President and Chief Executive Officer – Ram Truck Brand and Lead Executive for U.S. Sales. “Consumer buzz is building tremendously with the arrival of our all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee in dealerships now, as well as the continuing accolades for our new Ram Heavy-Duty pickup trucks.”
Chrysler Group reported total U.S. sales for June of 92,482 units, an increase of 35 percent versus June 2009 (68,297 units), even in the face of a softer-than-expected June for the industry.
