DETROIT--The Obama administration set the first ever greenhouse gas emission limits for US cars. To meet them, gas mileage standards must increase 40 percent to 35.5 miles per gallon. The 3rd Advanced Lightweight Materials for Vehicles event taking place August 11 and 12 at the Cobo Convention Center in Michigan Detroit will discuss new CAF standards to improve fuel economy and emissions. This event will help automotive and vehicle manufacturers step up to the challenges ahead and apply low cost lightweight materials and technologies.

Reasons to attend this year's conference:

  • Benchmark your lightweight initiatives against leading OEM's and Tier 1 collaborations
  • Discover new cost effective lightweight materials and processes in production today
  • Hear future forecasts on advanced materials and predict their impact on future trends
  • Test drive the new lightweight material Lamborghini and learn about the design processes behind it
  • Compare commercial programs against military initiatives
  • Network with seating engineers from the co-located 4th Innovative Seating Conference
  • Visit the exhibitors and show floors at the co-located Military Vehicle Exhibition & Conference

Participating organizations include Chrysler, Toyota, Lotus Engineering Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Aluminum Association, General Motors, and more.

Attendees at this event will consist of vice presidents, directors, managers, heads, supervisors and engineers for advanced materials, materials engineering, materials research, HSS application, materials processing, manufacturing, vehicle body design and metal forming.
