NHRA's Hagan to Throw Out First Pitch at SF Giants

NHRA¹s Hagan to Throw Out First Pitch at San
Francisco Giants Game
SONOMA, Calif. (July 13, 2010) ‹ Matt Hagan will do more than just race the
DieHard Dodge Charger Funny Car in the Bay Area this week.
Hagan, 27, will throw out the first pitch on Thursday night at AT&T Park
prior to the game between the San Francisco Giants and the New York Mets.
This will mark the first time Hagan has thrown out the first pitch at a
Major League Baseball game.
³I¹m actually really excited because I¹ve never done anything like this
before,² Hagan said. ³But I¹m a little nervous. I don¹t want to bounce the
ball on the ground. I¹ve been practicing just playing catch with my dad
(David) and my wife (Rachel).
³I think it¹s awesome to be able to have the privilege to do this. I¹m
looking forward to watching the game and having some fun.²
Hagan enters this weekend¹s FRAM Autolite NHRA Nationals at Infineon
Raceway in third place in the Funny Car point standings. He has two
victories for his career in Houston and Chicago, both coming in 2010. He
also holds the elapsed-time track record at Infineon Raceway of 4.068
seconds and the top-speed record of 307.51 mph, both set last year in his
rookie season. He was also No. 1 qualifier at Infineon in 2009.
