*For Agnew and Weddle It’s All About History *

CONCORD, N.C. (July 12, 2010)—When the USARacing Pro Cup Series rolls into
Motor Mile (Radford, Va.) Speedway this weekend for the Heritage Truck
Centers 250, many expect to see Jeff Agnew atop the charts. The 0.416-mile
track is very familiar to the Floyd, Va. native, who holds three poles and
the most starts at the track (14). Agnew, driver of the No. 73 Ford Fusion,
sits second in the series standings, just 180 points behind the leader, Clay
Rogers.

Agnew and crew chief, Doug Weddle comment on their friendships, racing and
everything in between.

WHAT IS ONE THING EVERY AGNEW FAN SHOULD KNOW?

*AGNEW*: Oh me, what a question. I don’t have a clue. I guess that I’m a
fierce competitor.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE TRACK AND WHY?

*AGNEW*: Motor Mile because we’ve been there so long. It’s where I started.
We were there eight years and had some success. The people who own it now
were my sponsors, so its come full circle.

WHAT’S THE MOST CHALLENGING THING ABOUT MOTOR MILE?

*AGNEW*: Being able to keep the car turning and having enough bite to get
off the corner.

HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A RACE AT MOTOR MILE?

*AGNEW*: Same as always. I don’t sit around and get mentally prepared. I
just go out and run as hard as I can for every lap. I hit the track and go
wide open.

*WEDDLE*: We’re focused as much as any other race team. We’ve been together
so many years that we know what to expect out of each other. We want to
succeed and the lack of success has made us want it more.

WHAT’S THE FIRST THING YOU REMEMBER ABOUT EACH OTHER?

*AGNEW*: He was hard to get along with. [Laughs] No, no, he’s just very
particular.

*WEDDLE*: Oh, man. We live in a small community of about 13,000 and in 1985
I found out that Agnew was building a family division car to run at local
speedways. I’ve always been a race fan so I started helping out as a crew
member.

DO YOU HAVE ANY RACE DAY SUPERSITIONS?

*AGNEW*: No.

*WEDDLE*: No. I just go through the same process every week, from unloading,
to practice, to pre-race.

IF YOU COULD TAKE ONE CREWMAN TO THE LAST CHAMPIONSHIP RACE, WHO WOULD IT BE
AND WHY?

*WEDDLE*: Probably “Tater” Thompson. It goes back to friendship. Tater has
been there since day one, the end of 1984. He’s been a part of Agnew’s crew
since he was 10 years old. He had to be snuck into tracks in a tire stack. I
would take him because he deserves it. You’re talking about him doing this
for some 25 years of his life.

With just three more races until the championships series beings, Clay
Rogers of Mooresville, N.C., leads the standings with 943 points. Rounding
out the top five are: Jeff Agnew, 763 points, Logan Ruffin, Memphis, Tenn.,
759, Caleb Holman of Abingdon, Va., 758 and John Gibson, of Springfield,
Mo., 752.

Practice is scheduled for noon Saturday, followed by qualifying at 4:30 p.m.
and the drivers autograph session (5:45 p.m.). The green flag is set to drop
on the Heritage Truck Centers 250 at 7 p.m.
