GOODYEAR CHOOSES BADA(r) STEEL WHEEL WEIGHTS

 

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - BADA has been selected to supply steel wheel
weights to the Goodyear Retail and Just Tires network, with distribution
beginning this summer. 

 

"This is a big win-win for BADA and Goodyear," said Kevin Keefe,
Hennessy Industries' vice president of marketing. "We are committed to
leading the industry's movement from lead to steel wheel weights. When a
company of Goodyear's size and stature in the market chooses BADA steel
as a preferred alternative to lead, it reinforces the many technical and
environmental benefits of BADA's unique and patented wheel weight
designs.

 

Goodyear, which owns 600 retail outlets across the U.S., has already
made the transition from lead to steel wheel weights in California, as
required by law, and plans to start the national rollout in mid-July. To
date, Arizona, Oregon and Washington and Minnesota have already been
transitioned.

 

"Like many large companies, we believe that offering eco-friendly
products is part of our responsibility to our consumers," said Goodyear
Retail's director of store support Jerry Alessia. "We're proud to be
working with companies like BADA and Myers Tire Supply who are dedicated
to providing the best alternative to lead wheel weights." BADA has
partnered with Myers Tire Supply to distribute the company's steel wheel
weights to Goodyear Retail stores.

 

As the market leader in steel wheel weights, BADA has played a key role
in the industry's shift from lead to steel in light of environmental
concerns about the toxicity of lead, and subsequently zinc. Because of
these concerns, several states and cities have passed anti-lead
legislation, and the state of Washington has endorsed steel over all
other alternatives.
