Here is a look at what is happening this weekend in ASA Racing. ASA SERIES ASA TRUCK SERIES (Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, Irwindale, CA) The fast trucks will make their final appearance of the season at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale on Saturday night. Joey Licata currently has a 60-point lead over Mike Herda in the standings. They will be part of a full racing program. www.speedtruck.com ASA NORTHWEST SPRINTCAR RACING SERIES (Statelline Stadium & Speedway, Post Falls, ID) After a four week break, the high flying asphalt winged sprints are back in action this Saturday night. Matt Hein has a seven point lead over Sierra Jackson in the standings with Justin Mack only nine points back. www.nsraracing.com ASA INTERSTATE RACING ASSOCIATION SPRINT CAR SERIES (Beaver Dam Raceway, Beaver Dam, WI) Only one event is on tap this weekend for the fast 410 winged sprint cars as they make another visit to Beaver Dam Raceway on Saturday night. Billy Balog has a 40-point lead over Scotty Neitzel in the standings. www.irasprints.org ASA MEMBER TRACKS ACE SPEEDWAY (Elon, NC) The Rolling Thunder Modifieds will be part of the full racing program this Friday night. The Late Models, Extremes, Mini Stocks, and Southern Ground Pounders will also be in action. The Pro-4 challenge highlights Military Appreciation Night. Anyone who shows a military ID gets into the track free. Only twenty-one points separate former track champions Jimmy Wysong and Jimmy Waters. Wysing has one first and second place finish. Waters has one second place finish and two third place finishes. The two former champions have consistently impressed fans this season with quick times and expert racing. Super Stocks will also return with Eric Rhead a top the points, with a 9 point lead over Richard Clegg. Rhead has finished in the top three for this seasons two Super Stock races. Dex Mini Cups, Legends and Hornets will also hit the track this weekend. All seats will be $5. Gates open at 4pm. Qualifying begins at 5pm and racing starts at 6pm. www.rmrracing.com SHANGRI LA II MOTOR SPEEDWAY (Tioga Center, NY) Sister tracks Shangri-La II Motor Speedway and Skyview Drags will be in operation at the same time on Saturday, July 10, as they do most every Saturday, but with a twist. It's Skyview's annual "Frenzy of Fire" jet car show, and track managers Amy Stilson of Shangri-La II and Amy Culver of Skyview Drags have coordinated their schedules for the day so fans attending the 6:00 p.m. show can see the feature events of both programs with their single ticket purchase. Adult admission will now be $12 with senior and military admission reduced to $10 and students 7 to 17 now $6. Saturday July 10th will be the inaugural visit by the Steel Block Bandits touring series to the ˝ mile speed plant in Jamaica, VA as they compete in the $2000 to win Firecracker 30.
