(July 7, 2010) - Located in the "American Heartland," the Hawkeye State is much more than just a place to grow corn - although Iowa is world-renowned for that. Instead, it's the Prairie Meadows 200 at Iowa Speedway and short-track racing action that is bringing New York, N.Y. native Tim George Jr. to Iowa as he returns to the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards this weekend on Saturday July 10. George's No. 31 Chevrolet will carry a special paint scheme as the team heads west this weekend to Newton, Iowa with University of Miami (UM) and The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis serving as the primary sponsor. The No. 31 UM - Buoniconti Fund Chevrolet will feature a University of Miami paint scheme with the orange, green and white colors and The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis on hood. The sponsorship coincides with George's association with the University's Alumni Association and The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis. George Jr., a 2006 University of Miami graduate, has set a year-long goal of raising $59,000, enough to pay one day of the charity's annual operating expenses. This weekend marks the final of three races in which he will race the UM - Buoniconti Fund themed design and donate his share of the prize winnings toward that goal. George, driver of the No. 31 No. 31 Richard Childress Racing Development Chevrolet Impala, made his first trip to the 7/8-mile (.875-mile) paved oval, Iowa Speedway, finishing 19th and maintaining position after starting 19th in the 2009 Prairie Meadow 200. "Iowa was a challenge for me last year, but I have a lot more confidence going into this race now," said George reflecting on Iowa Speedway. "It will be great to have Ty Dillon as my teammate in the ARCA Racing Series, and working with my Richard Childress Racing team again will be fun. I'm doing several appearances, so I'm also looking forward to a busy weekend." Participating in an autograph session, George will meet fans at Karl Chevrolet on Friday, July 9, beginning at 3:00 p.m. Karl Chevrolet is one of the premier Chevy dealers in Des Moines, Iowa, conveniently located right off Interstate 35 in Ankeny. Also, George will meet and greet with the ARCA Racing Series fans at the Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Altoona, Iowa on July 9 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. local. On Saturday, George will make an appearance at the Chevy Display, located on the main fan concourse at Iowa Speedway at 2:30 p.m. The 29-year old, George, is currently ninth in the ARCA Racing Series season point standings, just 300 points behind the point leader. His best finish of the 2010 campaign came at Talladega where he finished third. The Prairie Meadows 200 presented by SPEED on Mediacom (200 laps / 175 miles), on Saturday, July 10th, is televised live on SPEED. The broadcast begins at 9:00 P.M. (ET).
