GE Appoints Two Company Officers and One Senior Vice President

FAIRFIELD, Conn.--GE today announces the appointment of two new company officers and one senior vice president. GE currently has 192 GE officers globally. GE officers lead large revenue generating businesses or are in critical functional roles, helping to drive growth.

Below is the list of GE’s two new officers:

Eric Gebhardt, 42, is senior general manager and vice president at GE Energy Services, a business within GE Energy. Gebhardt has held numerous leadership roles across GE’s Energy business throughout his 19 years at GE.

Prior to his current role, Gebhardt was senior general manager of Energy Services Engineering for GE Energy where he has managed the expansion of this group to include GE Energy's new Smart Grid solutions. He has also led the integration of the engineering functions of several GE business units into Energy Services. Gebhardt also was the general manager for GE Energy's Wind Systems Engineering organization and for the Optimization Services Technology business as well as quality leader for GE Energy Services.

Gebhardt received a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA.

Ryan Zanin, 47, has been appointed vice president and chief risk officer of GE Capital.

Zanin will oversee GE Capital’s global risk department. He is taking over the role currently held by Jim Colica, 62, who is retiring after 27 years of distinguished service with GE Capital. Colica has built a strong risk function with a long track record of performance and helped successfully lead the business through the financial crisis.

Zanin joins GE after 29 years in the financial services industry, specializing in risk management. Most recently, he was the managing director and chief risk officer for corporate credit and risk management in the international and capital markets at Wells Fargo & Company. He also served as the managing director and chief risk officer in corporate & investment bank at Wachovia Corporation, a Wells Fargo Company.

Prior to Wells Fargo, Zanin spent 14 years in senior leadership roles across Deutsche Bank, AG, including: managing director and chief credit officer of global leveraged, structured and real estate finance at corporate & investment bank and managing director and deputy head of Loan Exposure Management as well as managing director of leverage finance at corporate & investment bank.

Zanin is a Chartered Financial Analyst and graduated from the Institute of Canadian Bankers and Canadian Securities Institute.

He will join GE on July 19, reporting to Mike Neal, chairman and CEO, GE Capital.

GE also announced the promotion of one leader to senior vice president:

Omar Ishrak, 54, was recently named a senior vice president of GE. He remains president and CEO of GE Healthcare Systems.

Ishrak's technology leadership and business acumen have been instrumental in positioning GE to become the world’s leading provider of Ultrasound systems and services. Ishrak is a 15-year veteran of GE, he was promoted to vice president and officer of the General Electric Company in 1999, and was appointed president and CEO of GE Healthcare Clinical Systems in 2005.

Ishrak joined GE with more than 13 years of technology development and business management experience, holding leadership positions including senior vice president of worldwide marketing and product development, Elbit Ultrasound Group and various product development and engineering positions at Philips Ultrasound.

He earned a bachelor’s degree and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of London, King's College.
