New Time for Seattle Museum of Flight Groundbreaking Due to Governor’s Schedule
SEATTLE--The Museum of Flight has adjusted the time of the groundbreaking ceremony for its new Space Gallery from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29 to enable Gov. Gregoire to attend and speak.
The groundbreaking will still take place in the parking lot next to the Museum of Flight Library and Archives Building, 9303 East Marginal Way South in Seattle, across the street from the Personal Courage Wing.
Other dignitaries attending include retired astronaut and Museum CEO Dr. Bonnie J. Dunbar, the Museum’s Interim President and former President of Microsoft, Michael Hallman, as well as a number of other supporters of this exciting initiative.
As Seattle and Washington State await the decision on where the three retiring Space Shuttles will be located, the Museum of Flight is moving forward with plans to build a state-of-the-art facility that is capable of housing a Space Shuttle and other space artifacts.
