Line Opens Norwalk Qualifying in Fifth

Summit Racing driver Jason Line started his qualifying effort at his sponsor’s race in fine fashion on Friday, posting two of the quickest runs in each of the two sessions at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park. After opening with the third-quickest pass at 6.647-seconds, the 2009 Summit Racing Equipment Nationals winner came back in the night session with a 6.620-second, 208.62 mph run to place fifth midway through the qualifying procedure. Even so, Line felt his performance could have been even better, citing the numbers in the early part of the run..
“Although being fifth is certainly not terrible, this Summit Racing team was looking for a little more,�?? said Line. “After being near the top of the page in sixty feet in the first session, we fell off a bit in the night run with both Greg’s and my cars which definitely hurt us. Considering the conditions in the second session were the best we’ll see all weekend, we feel like we let one get away. Still, we have a lot left to do this weekend, including the K&N Horsepower Challenge tomorrow, so we’ll study our notes, come up with a game plan, and come back in the morning ready to get after it.�??
