Dover Downs Hotel & Casino has been approved by the Delaware Lottery to begin 24-hour table game operations consisting of Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Pai Gow Poker, Spanish 21, Baccarat, and 3-Card Poker. Dealers at 40 game tables will take regular-limit bets at noon on Friday, June 25, beginning with the official first roll to be thrown by Delaware Lottery Director, Wayne Lemons.

“We could not be more pleased to see this day finally come,” said Ed Sutor, president and CEO. “This is the beginning of a new era at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino. Table games elevate our offerings to that of a true “casino.” We are a first-class gaming destination which also includes sports betting, something that our neighboring states cannot offer. We truly have it all.”

On July 12, the Crown RoyalŪ Poker Room is expected to open on the site’s third floor, raising the total number of table player positions to 300. The Poker Room is being furnished with 12 tables that will offer the most popular poker games, including Texas Hold ‘Em. Poker tournaments are being planned for the near future.

A new menu for the Poker Room offers selections ranging from Tony Luke’s Cheese Steaks, Dietz & Watson Italian Grinders and Yuengling Lager to light snacks such as brownies, cookies, and fruit & yogurt parfaits. The Crown Royal Poker Room will be open 24 hours daily.

A staff of more than 300 has been hired to accommodate the 24-hour table gaming schedule, including over 200 dealers. “We definitely have the friendliest dealers on the East Coast,” said Sutor. “Most of our dealers are from Delaware, and you simply will not find a more hospitable group anywhere.” An additional staff of approximately 45 will be brought on board to fill remaining positions for the Poker Room.
