NASCAR Releases Whelen All-American Second Tier Standings:
Wallburg's Ryan Robertson Leading the Nation


What:              60 Lap Sportsman race

When:             June 26th - Gates open at 6pm

           Where:             Bowman Gray Stadium, Winston-Salem, NC

Currently, the NASCAR Whelen All-American racing series is divided into five tiers, with the Bowman Gray Stadium Sportsman division being placed in the second tier.  The track has been able to make a strong showing with seven of the top ten positions of this tier claiming Bowman Gray Stadium as their home track. NASCAR's Whelen All-American Series uses this point system as a way to compare NASCAR's weekly tracks across the country.

Ryan Robertson, driver of the #23 Law Offices of Timothy D. Welborn/Make-A-Wish Chevrolet is currently in 1st place in the Whelen All-American series second tier, with 14 starts, 4 top fives, and 12 top ten finishes at Bowman Gray Stadium this season.  The 24 year old driver has been racing late model stock cars across the south east for eight years, starting just one week after his 16th birthday, and has turned his attention to Bowman Gray full time this year.  The Robertson family has a history at Bowman Gray, making Ryan the third generation to race at the stadium.

"We believe the competition in the Sportsman division is very stiff.  There are a lot of very skilled competitors and being number one in the Sportsman division and in the national points is definitely something for Ryan to be proud of," said Loren Pinilis, Public Relations for Bowman Gray Stadium
