SPOKANE COUNTY RACEWAY ADDED TO NHRA LUCAS OIL DRAG RACING SERIES SCHEDULE
GLENDORA, Calif. (June 22, 2010) - NHRA officials announced today the addition of Spokane County Raceway to the NHRA Northwest Division Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series. The Northwest Thunderfest event, scheduled for July 29-August 1, will be the third in the series taking the total number of events to six in the division and 40 in the series.
Spokane County Raceway came on board as an NHRA Member Track last year and hosted its first ever Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event and the winners were: Shawn Cowie, Top Alcohol Dragster; Doug Lambeck, Comp Eliminator; Jody Lang, Super Stock; and Greg Kielman, Stock. All four drivers went on to win the NHRA Northwest Division Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series championship last year in their respective classes.
The track has also scheduled the Nostalgia Nitro Funny Car class along with exhibition jet cars scheduled to run on both Friday and Saturday night. Lucas Oil Racers will be vying for points toward both national and divisional championships. Spokane County Raceway is located at 750 N. Hayford Road in Airway Heights, Wash.
