West Lebanon, NY: The temperatures were hot and the air was full of excitement as the legendary high banks at Lebanon Valley Speedway came to life with Heim’s Auto Care and DMC Racing Products presenting the action.

The action began early as the Pro Stocks took to the speedway for a special 23 lap Bubba Tanner Memorial. Donald Tanner, Bubba’s father, dropped the green flag on the field as Robbie Speed darted out to the early lead.

The door to door racing came to a halt by lap 6 as Kevin Arnold, Jay Casey, and Bill Deak make contact in turn 2, ending the nights of all three as they came to rest against the outside wall on the backstretch.

As the green flew again, Speed took control and sailed away. The field was slowed only once more for a caution, but that was not gonna keep Robbie Speed from grabbing the checkered flag and special trophy presented by DMC Racing Products.

Following Speed was Rick Dempsey, Chuck Towslee, Paul LaRochelle, and Jay Corbin rounded out the top 5.

The mighty big block Modifieds took to the speedway next for their 30 lap feature event. Out front early was the #7 of John Ruchel before the caution slowed the field by lap 2 for the #39 of Ryan Larkin, #14 of Lorne Browe, and the #34B of Andy Bachetti.

Bachetti continued but Larkin and Browe were done for the night. Ruchel charged out to the lead again, this time with 12 time Champion Kenny Tremont Jr hot on his heels. By lap 5, Ruchel gave up the top spot to Tremont, and the #115 began to check out on the field.

Further back in the field, Bachetti, Brett Hearn, and J.R. Heffner began making their charge to the front. The Kokosa Oil Lap counter clicked off 27 laps as the caution flew again, bunching the field. That put Bachetti right on the heels of Tremont.

But the final 3 circuits were gonna finish like they started, with Tremont scoring his 116 career win, followed by Bachetti, Heffner, Matt Quinn, and Brian Berger to round out the top 5.

The Budget Sportsman saw Tim Hartman Jr hold off the charges of Kevin Lynch, and then later in the race with another veteran, Bobby Knipe. But Hartman was not to be denied his first career victory at the legendary Valley of Speed.

Following Hartman Jr was Knipe, Robbie Knipe crossed the line 3rd, Dave Baronowski Jr, and Jason Harrington completed the top 5.

In the LV Sportsman, Kolby Schroder held off a 6 lap challenge by Kyle Armstrong to take his first win of 2010. Armstrong had to settle for 2nd, while Cullen howe, Olden Dwyer and Steve Meilleur battled to round out the top 5.

Clem Toffolo, Jesse Murphy, and Al Relyea all scored wins in the Pure Stock Features.

Next Saturday Night, the Valley of Speed comes to life again with Genderon’s Truck Center and Bonded Concrete present Report Card Night! Students K-12 who present their report card, get in for FREE! Also, the 358 Modified make a return to the might high banks.
