Line Rebounds to Qualify Tenth in Bristol
 
Event:  10th annual Thunder Valley NHRA Nationals
Location: Bristol Dragway, Bristol, TN
Day/Date: Saturday, June 19, 2010
 
After having his run in the Friday evening session cut short by an electrical problem, Summit Racing driver Jason Line came into the last day of qualifying at the Thunder Valley Nationals in Bristol, TN outside the sixteen-car field.  Further compounding his assignment was the increased heat and humidity at Bristol Dragway on Saturday, conditions which combine to slow the Pro Stock category, whose carbureted engines are much more sensitive to change in the weather.  
 
Fortunately, both Line and his KB Racing crew were up to the challenge, posting the fifth-quickest time of the opening round at 6.761-seconds, with a top speed of 203.74 mph placing themselves well within the field in the tenth position.  After completing his qualifying effort with another solid run, the 2006 Bristol winner turned his attention to race day and scoring his second win in Thunder Valley.
 
“Today was certainly a lot better for this Summit Racing team,�?? said Line.  “After having some sort of gremlin on Friday night, we replaced every part of the electrical system and came back to make two pretty decent runs today.  Having solved that problem, I believe we may have a chance to do some good in eliminations.  For the first time in a while, I’m going to sleep well tonight, so I can hopefully come out here tomorrow and have a great Father’s Day.�??
