CATTANACH CLOSES IN ON CHAMPIONSHIP WITH STOCKTON TOP-TEN
Steven Blakesley Email: steven@norcalmedia.com Phone: (916) 316-4854 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE  CATTANACH CLOSES IN ON CHAMPIONSHIP WITH STOCKTON TOP-TEN  IRVINE, CALIFORNIA (June 15, 2010) – Kyle Cattanach took the #88 Superior Crankshaft through the field from 17th position to finish ninth in the “Mid Valley Iron & Metals 130�?? for the SRL SPEARS Southwest Tour at the new Stockton 99 Speedway.  Kyle’s finish kept him fifth in the series standings, but he is just 77 points out of first place.  In the 130 lap contest on the quarter-mile asphalt oval, Cattanach methodically worked his way through the pack and was challenging for tenth by lap 28.  Contact with another competitor saw Cattanach sent to the rear of the field. Cattanach then took his time making it back through the field, and was once again running tenth by lap 89.  Continuing his run to the front, Cattanach challenged Brennan Newberry for a top-five all the way to the finish.  Cattanach made a move to pass Newberry cleanly on the last lap only to have Newberry turn him around coming off turn four to the checkered flag. In the shuffle, Cattanach crossed the line and was scored with a ninth place finish.  “It was very frustrating, it took a top five finish from us, and was totally unnecessary,�?? Cattanach said. “I raced him clean all night and got zero respect back from him. I guess that’s short track racing but it hurt both our nights and tore up the cars.�??  Superior Crankshaft Racing has announced they will be moving driver Kyle Cattanach over to Bammer Motorsports starting at Madera Speedway on June 26th.  “We are excited to be joining this great organization along with an owner that has been around the industry for alot of years and is very hands on within his program,�??
