Lexus of Richmond Announces Winner of Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award

Media partners WRLH-FOX, WRVA, WRNL & Richmond Magazine helped recognize local student athletes

RICHMOND, Va., June 10 -- For the 15th year Lexus of Richmond has participated in recognizing one outstanding high school senior scholar-athlete for the Annual Lexus of Richmond Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award.

Thirty students were finalists in this competition, and each week over the school year, nominees were featured on FOX 35 Richmond and radio station WRVA 1140. Highlights included their scholastic and athletic achievements and their community activities. All the finalists demonstrated total commitment to hard work both in the classroom and on the field of play. Additionally, nominees were all featured in Richmond Magazine.

The Annual Banquet was held at The Mill at Fine Creek. Selecting just one winner from this group of high achievers was no easy task, but in the end, Ted Gottwald of St. Christopher's School was presented the $10,000 Scholarship in the 15th Annual Lexus of Richmond Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award. The banquet speaker was William "Bill" Mims, Virginia Supreme Court justice.

George W. Whitlow, President of Lexus of Richmond said, "I am very proud of each nominee for this Scholarship Award, and know that our community and commercial enterprises will be the beneficiaries of their efforts for many years to come. In our hearts, the entire team at Lexus of Richmond knows that all of these young folks are winners."

This year Lexus of Richmond also allowed local community members to pick their favorite candidate on Facebook. The winner, Philip Rohrer won an iPad, but voting was so close that second place finisher, Darren McLeod was given a $250 Apple gift card as well.
