After a four year absence, off-road racing was back at the Langlade County Fairgrounds in Antigo, Wisconsin. The layout of the .75 course incorporated much of the .5 mile clay circle track as well as a good portion of the infield. The course was a good combination of fast high flying jumps and a solid technical section through the infield. Round One Danny Beauchamp and his black and orange #826 Ford F-150 drew the tenth position in the starting grid. Starting that far back meant that there was no time for patience. As soon as the green flag was dropped, Danny "got up on the wheel" passing four trucks in during the opening lap of the race. The next few were not as easy, as the race wound down, the #826 UPCARS.com Ford was in fourth place with four laps to go. Then in consecutive laps, Danny passed the next two trucks as he worked his way through the infield. When the fifteen lap race was complete, Danny Beauchamp came home in second place. "Starting in the back, I knew it would be tough to get up front," recalled Danny Beauchamp. "This F-150 really worked great on the infield section, the BFGoodrich Tires and Fox Shox really made it happen for us today. I just needed a couple more laps to give my cousin (Scott Beauchamp) a run for the money." After the great run on Saturday, the team went through its usual prep work, and by the evening, the black and orange Ford was ready for Round Two. Round Two The starting grid saw the entire field lined up inverted from the Round One finishing position. That put the #826 Ford in the twelfth starting position. Once again Danny would have to make a hard charge to get to the front. Almost immediately after the start, there was considerable contact at the back of the field. Then Danny thought he had a flat tire, but in reality he was losing his power steering. After a quick stop in the Hot Pits, the crew saw the leaking power steering hose, and without a quick fix available, Dan just "sucked it up" and went back to the track to continue the battle. When the mandatory yellow came out, the #826 Coplan's Iron & Steel Ford just barely stayed on the lead lap, back in ninth place. When the racing resumed, Danny Beauchamp passed four more trucks in the final seven laps to cross the finish in fifth place. "That quick stop in the pits really saved my race, we got back out still on the lead lap and we able to catch up with the pack thanks to the caution lap.
