This variety also opens the door for someone to live their dream of being a competitor at any age. Every ASA Member Track offers at least three divisions of racing as part of their weekly show with an adult admission price ranging anywhere from $8-$15. Many tracks, asphalt or dirt, will have a variety that includes stock cars to open wheel cars at the same night. Meridian Speedway, an ASA Member Track in Meridian, ID, has over a dozen different divisions competing at its quarter-mile oval throughout the year. "Every night here at Meridian Speedway is a little different because we got 12-13 different divisions which some will think is too many but we have a full field of cars so there is nothing we need to do to reduce that. Because we have so many different divisions, it doesn't matter when you show up you will see some different cars, its never the same show," Adam Nelson, Meridian Speedway Promoter said. "We mix it up real well along with the many different traveling series that visit our track as well." That variety of divisions allows for anyone to compete at Meridian in a division that fits within their budget. They even have a Junior Stinger division designed for ages 11-14 to compete as well. Desoto Super Speedway, an ASA Member Track in Bradenton, FL lists up to 18 different divisions that compete throughout the season on their fast half-mile oval. On an average race night, a fan will see around seven different divisions competing. Their divisions is a great mix of Late Models, Modifieds, Pure Stocks, 4-cylinder cars and much more. While most of the tracks are asphalt or dirt, one ASA Member Track is actually concrete. Shangri-La II Motor Speedway in Tioga Center, NY is in its second season as a half-mile concrete oval. They offer five different divisions of racing on a weekend afternoon. This new track is continuously making improvements to its new facility and is working on installing lights to provide that traditional night time short track excitement. But with a unique afternoon program, it allows more time for family and friends to enjoy the evening to reflect on the afternoon of action. On the dirt tracks, one ASA Member Track, Hartford Motor Speedway in Hartford, MI competes on Friday night with four different divisions from Late Models, Modifieds, Factory Stocks and Pure Stocks. With them competing on a Friday night, it allows race fans and families to kick off the weekend with a great adrenaline rush of fast dirt action on their half-mile oval. "Many race fans remember the American Speed Association as a single racing series, but over the last five years that has changed to the variety we have sanctioned today," Dennis Huth, ASA President said. "Our ASA Member Tracks provide a great variety of racing with some great divisions competing each week and at an affordable family price. There is something there for everyone to enjoy. Not only do they have unique divisions but competitors as well, and just about every one of our ASA Member Tracks opens their pits after the races so the fans can see the variety of cars and competitors up close."
