NHRA North Central  Division Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series 
Route 66 Raceway,  Joliet, Ill.  
John Coughlin Jr.  enters this weekend’s Joliet race as the fifth ranked 
driver in the  North Central Division Top Dragster standings. He was a 
runner-up at the most  recent event in Indianapolis.  
John Coughlin is the  defending Top Dragster champion at this event. John 
also claimed the Top  Dragster title here in 2007. Both years, John went on 
to win the championship.   
John has also won a  pair of North Central Division titles in the Super Gas 
class in 1994 and 1995.   
John Coughlin has won  14 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events in his career 
and has four runner-up  finishes. He has won titles in Top Dragster, Super 
Stock, and Super Gas, and has  a runner-up finish in Super Comp.  
John will once again  be doing double duty in Joliet as he will also be 
racing his JEGS.com  Chevy Cobalt in the Comp Eliminator class.  
Troy (T.J.) Coughlin Jr.  is currently ranked 11th in the North Central 
Division Super Comp  standings. He has attended just two events this year, 
recording a pair of  quarterfinal finishes with his JEGS.com dragster 
T.J. Coughlin won his  first NHRA National event title at the 2009 NHRA Las 
Vegas Nationals last  November.  
All told, the Coughlin  family, which includes brothers John, Troy, Mike 
and Jeg Coughlin as well as family  patriarch Jeg Sr., have combined to win 50 
NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series  titles. 
Last weekend, Route 66  Raceway hosted the United Association NHRA Route 66 
Nationals, an event that  also featured the highly anticipate JEGS Allstars 
event, which features 80 of  the best sportsman drag racers from all over 
North America. The JEGS Allstars  featured a total purse of more than 
$120,000.
