Verizon Wireless Supports New Laws to Keep Georgia Drivers Safe on the Road

ALPHARETTA, Ga., June 4 -- Verizon Wireless applauds the Georgia Legislature and Governor Sonny Perdue for the passage of HB-23 which will keep Georgians under the age of 18 safe on the roadways by banning cell phone use while driving. Perdue also signed into law Senate Bill 360, also known as Caleb's Law, banning texting while driving for anyone 18 and older.

"Verizon Wireless supports Georgia's leaders for taking the steps necessary to keep all drivers safe on the road. As the largest wireless service provider, we have a long history of leadership on the issue of wireless safety while driving and appreciate our lawmakers championing this important issue. Our number one message has always been 'Driving is your first responsibility when behind the wheel," said Jeff Mango, president - Georgia/Alabama Region for Verizon Wireless.
