The Trans-Am Series will make its first appearance at the track in Tooele, Utah to headline this weekend's event. Drissi and Ramoutarsingh hope to retaliate after unsatisfactory results in Round 2. Drissi, the defending series champion, has one win this season and trails series leader RJ Lopez by only five markers in the points standings after two of ten rounds in the 2010 championship. The Hollywood, California native looks to make his 89thTrans-Am start this weekend, driving the #5 THE A-TEAM: THERE IS NO PLAN B Jaguar XKR promoting 20thCentury Fox's new movie out in theaters June 11. "This will be my first time racing here in Trans-Am, although I have turned a few laps on this track previously," commented Drissi. "So I have an idea of what to expect. The track has a high speed straight, fast esses, and then very technical tight turns. It is going to be a real ground pounding-fire breathing street fight. I look forward to meeting all the fans and putting on a good race in the #5 THE A-TEAM: THERE IS NO PLAN B Jaguar XKR to show them what a pure-bred GT race car really is." Ramoutarsingh currently sits fourth in the points standings and will be looking to improve his season-best result of fourth at New Jersey this weekend behind the wheel of the #8 Trinrico Steel & Wire Products Jaguar XKR. This weekend's green flag will mark the Trinidian's tenth Trans-Am start. "It is a great pleasure to participate in Trans-am at Miller Motorsports Park", says Ramoutarsingh. "One of the things that make this place special for me is that it was of the late Lawrence Miller, who to me was truly a man for the sport of automobile racing. I understand the track is fairly new, but was built to be one of the best road courses in North America. We are to run the 'East Track', and I look forward to taking on the challenge and returning to podium position. It will be my first time visiting Utah, and hope to bring previous race experience to finish up front in the #8 Trinrico Steel and Wire Products Jaguar XKR. I am very excited to return to the series on new ground, and look forward to what will undoubtedly be a challenging and action packed weekend." MillerMotorsports Park is a state-of-the-art road racing facility for automobiles, motorcycles and karts located just 35 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City in Tooele, Utah. The 2.24-mile East Course, which is the track configuration that will be used by the Trans-Am Series this weekend, is a highly technical challenge suited for the Jaguar XKR Trans-Am machine. It has as many as seven major overtaking areas and 14 corners, including the three-turn esses, which have significant elevation changes. The feature corner on the East Course is the final turn, a 50-foot-wide, nine-degree banked sweeper that leads onto the main straight. It is designed to create last-minute overtaking challenges before the race to the finish line. The RSR duo will hit the track on Friday, June 4 participating in the promoter test day. Qualifying will take place on Saturday at 3:35 pm MDT and the race taking the green flag on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. local time.
