Many of the ASA Sanctioned Series and Member Tracks will be in action. Summer is the time to be outdoors and why not enjoy it at your local short track. Here is a look at what is happening in ASA this weekend. ASA SERIES ASA MIDWEST TOUR (SUPER LATE MODELS & TRUCK TOUR) (Elko Speedway, Elko, MN) After a one month break, the month of June will be a busy one for the ASA Midwest Tour as they will have four big events in four weeks in four different states for the Super Late Model Series. This Saturday night, they will make their only appearance of the season at Elko Speedway in Elko, MN. 2009 Champion Steve Carlson will be looking to make it two in a row this season. He will be challenged by Dan Fredrickson, who won the last ASAMT event at Elko and along with the best Super Late Model drivers in the Midwest. The ASA Midwest Truck Tour will also be in action with their second event of the season. www.asamidwesttour.com ASA NORTHWEST SPRINT CAR RACING ASSOCIATION (Meridian Speedway, Meridian, ID) The super fast asphalt winged sprint cars will be the feature division at the 22nd Annual Diamond Cup this Friday and Saturday night at Meridian Speedway, an ASA Member Track in Meridian, ID. As of this release, there is an $800 bounty for the first driver who dips into the 10-second territory during qualifying on the newly paved quarter-mile oval. It's one of the biggest open wheel events in the Boise area. www.nsraracing.com ASA TRUCK SERIES (The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Las Vegas, NV) The points battle between teammates will be contested this Saturday night at the famous Bullring at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Dylan Kwasniewski and his teammate Joey Licata are tied with the points lead heading into The Bullring event. A 75-lap event may break that tie or allow a new star to shine this weekend. www.speedtruck.com ASA INTERSTATE RACING ASSOCIATION SPRINT CAR SERIES (Oshkosh SpeedZone, Oshkosh, WI) After a busy three day race weekend over Memorial Day, the ASA IRA Sprint Cars will be in action Friday night at the Oshkosh SpeedZone in Oshkosh, WI, their only event this weekend. A great points battle is already happening as Billy Balog and Scotty Neitzel are tied for the points lead while Mike Reinke is only five points behind. www.irasprints.org ASA MEMBER TRACKS ACE SPEEDWAY (Elon, NC) The Pro All-Star Series (PASS) will be making their first appearance to Ace Speedway this Friday night for a 150-lap feature event. Parker has a three-point lead over #84 Mark Ith Jr. from West Jordan, Utah. #41 Michael Haddenham is currently third in points followed by #50 Roger Wilson and #7 Bryan Wordelman tied for fourth. Parker is currently in third for the western region track leaders of the Joe Gibbs Driven Racing Oil ASA Member Track National Championship. RMR classes running this weekend include Maverik Modifieds, DEX Mini Cups, Legends, Focus Midgets and Hornets. Gates open at 4pm. Qualifying begins at 5pm and racing starts at 6pm.
