(June 02, 2010)- The ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards makes the first stop of the season at Pocono Raceway this weekend for the Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 200. Tim George Jr. and the No. 31 Richard Childress Racing (RCR) Development team head to Pocono looking to bounce back from a 25th-place finish at Toledo Speedway. The team took advantage of the week off, recharged and focused to get back racing. At 2.5-miles in length, Pocono is a long track like Talladega and Daytona. Unlike those superspeedways, Pocono does not have steeply banked turns. Nicknamed the "Tricky Triangle", Pocono is a unique three-cornered racetrack different than any track on the 20-race schedule as it varies in tightness and banking. "I raced at Pocono last season, and it was one of my toughest tracks," admitted George. "It is the most 'unique' oval, or more a triangle, that I've ever raced on. This year I have a lot more confidence and sense of feel in the racecar. With Gere Kennon as crew chief and my guys helping, we should be competitive this year." The race on Saturday, June 5 will be George's third career start at the 2.5-mile triangular speedway. George debuted on the unique track in June 2009, qualifying in the 10th postion and finishing 19th. The August race at Pocono proved to be good to George, as he qualified in ninth position. He equaled his finish from the June event, finishing solidly within the top-20 by sliding into 19th. The drive from Manhattan to Long Pond takes a scant two hours, but the New York, N.Y. native will not be far from home. "Pocono isn't quite my home track, but it's the closest place to where I grew up in New York that NASCAR races," added George. "I should have some friends and family show up for support." In addition to George feeling at home at Pocono Raceway, his No. 31 Richard Childress Racing Development Chevrolet teammate, Tire Specialist and Catch Can Man Adam Risher, considers the Keystone State home, as he hails from Pottstown. ARCA Racing Series schedule to be broadcast on the SPEED Channel. He has two GT class podium finishes in the Rolex 24 at Daytona, finishing third in 2008 and second in 2009. The 29-year old driver made his transition to stock cars running full-time in 2009 in the ARCA Racing Series for Eddie Sharp Racing, finishing 11th in the point standings with one top-5, two top-10 and six top-15 finishes.
