(May 26, 2010)-Tim George Jr. will make an appearance at theFood Lion Speed Street to meet Charlotte area fans and share the fun and excitement of the Coca-Cola 600 weekend experience. George will sign autographs with other ARCA Racing Series drivers at the Victory Lane Karting Display located across from the SPEED Stage on Thursday, May 27 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. EST. "It will be fun to mingle with fans near where I live," said George. "I live in Uptown Charlotte, so Speed Street is literally in my backyard. Growing up in New York City, I feel at home in a city environment, and to have such a fun venue for fans to come enjoy in Uptown is great." The 29-year-old Richard Childress Racing driver from New York, N.Y. will sign autographs and take photos with fans at the Victory Lane Karting Display. Additional highlights of the annual street festival include family-friendly entertainment, autograph sessions, vendor displays and musical performances from various artists. Celebrating its 16th year, Food Lion Speed Street begins Thursday. The three-day festival located in Charlotte, N.C. and will entertain more than 400,000 fans throughout the event. Thursday's schedule of events includes Opening Ceremonies, Rodney Atkins, Luke Bryan and NASCAR Hall of Fame Introduction with Winston Kelley. George will sign autographs for fans at the following time and location during the Food Lion Speed Street: - Thursday, May 27, from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. EST. at Victory Lane Karting Display Across from the SPEED Stage, located at Tryon and Martin Luther King in the Wachovia Plaza Food Lion Speed Street hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., May 27-29, Thursday through Saturday from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. Admission is free. He has two GT class podium finishes in the Rolex 24 at Daytona, finishing third in 2008 and second in 2009. The 29-year old driver made his transition to stock cars running full-time in 2009 in the ARCA Racing Series for Eddie Sharp Racing, finishing 11th in the point standings with one top-5, two top-10 and six top-15 finishes.
