Lotus Cars Australia Appoints New GM Sales & Marketing
SYDNEY – May 17, 2010: Lotus Cars Australia has announced the appointment of Mr Fabian Abal as General Manager Sales and Marketing, effective immediately.
The appointment of Fabian follows the departure of Mr Jonathan Stretton, who will be returning to the UK to work directly for Lotus Cars UK.
Lotus Cars Australia Managing Director John Startari: "Fabian brings a wealth of automotive management experience to the role at a time when Lotus is poised for continued growth in Australia."
Over the past 13 years Fabian has worked extensively with automotive distributors in both the mainstream and luxury car industry. An accountant by profession, his previous roles as General Manager Sales for IBS (formerly IDS Enterprise Systems), had him working closely with many of the country's leading automotive distributors.
“Fabian's experience in the automotive industry and sales background will equip him well as Lotus faces the challenges and exciting evolution over the next few years.
"There are exciting times ahead for Lotus," says Abal, "with the recent launch of the new Evora, the most significant Lotus car to be launched in the last decade, along with plans to introduce a whole new range of Lotus Cars. Couple this with a multitude of highly acclaimed and internationally experienced appointments at head office in the UK, along with some very grand plans for Lotus, and I am privileged to be associated with this iconic brand at such an exciting time in its evolution."
Following the launch of the new V6 Evora, Lotus Cars Australia will bring to market a number of updates in 2010, including the facelifted Elise and Exige, along with more aggressive pricing strategies announced in April.
