MonaVie Joins Tomas Scheckter and Dreyer & Reinbold Racing for the Indianapolis 500

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah--MonaVie (www.monavie.com), maker of premier acai berry juice–based nutritional and energy drink products, today announces that it will sponsor Tomas Scheckter and Dreyer & Reinbold Racing on the team’s third entry for the 94th running of the Indianapolis 500. South African driver, Tomas Scheckter, will pilot the vibrant blue and black No. 23 machine.

“Thousands of MonaVie distributors will tune in to watch Tomas Scheckter compete at over 220 miles per hour at the Indy 500”

“We are very excited to work with MonaVie,?? says Dennis Reinbold, Dreyer & Reinbold Racing co-owner. “Tomas and MonaVie developed a good relationship last year and achieved many successes, and we hope to have even more this year for the Indianapolis 500.??

“Thousands of MonaVie distributors will tune in to watch Tomas Scheckter compete at over 220 miles per hour at the Indy 500,?? says MonaVie Founder and Vice Chairman, Henry Marsh. “We’re happy to renew our relationship with Tomas for a second season, and wish him the best of success during qualifying. MonaVie EMV Lite will make a big splash on the Indy Race track, and the entire MonaVie organization will be cheering Tomas on from pit lane, the grandstands and from Indy 500 parties around the globe."

The renewed partnership with Scheckter and the Indy 500 will help MonaVie introduce its new energy drink MonaVie EMVLite — to a whole new demographic of sporting enthusiasts. The newest generation of MonaVie EMV energy drinks will become available on May 4, and Tomas will use MonaVie EMV Lite to fuel his performance at the Indy 500. Featuring a proprietary blend of antioxidant rich fruits, including the Brazilian superfruit acai, and other natural sources of energy, MonaVie EMV Lite increases performance, endurance, and concentration by kicking up energy levels and keeping them there, without the subsequent crash. MonaVie EMV Lite offers a healthy, calorie conscious solution to the body's everyday energy needs.

This year will mark MonaVie’s second and Scheckter’s ninth time to compete in the famed event. Scheckter started on the fourth row of the Indianapolis 500 for his first seven races until 2009, when he qualified 26th, but finished 12th. His best result was 4th with Ganassi Racing in 2003. He also ranks 5th among active drivers in most laps led at Indy with 148 laps (behind Wheldon, Castroneves, Dixon and Kanaan). Scheckter also ranks 37th all time in laps led at Indy and has completed 1,292 laps in competition at Indy.

“I am very happy for MonaVie to be back on again for another Indianapolis 500,?? said Scheckter. “Like I have said many times before, this is a product that I believe in and used before they ever sponsored me. I will make sure that I give it my all to put the MonaVie car in victory lane, and I will drink some MonaVie EMV Lite along with the traditional glass of milk.??

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing will make another sponsor announcement for the No. 23 car in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more details, and please visit www.dreyerreinboldracing.com for more information.

About Dreyer and Reinbold Racing

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing is entering its 11th season of full-time competition in 2010, making it one of the longest-tenured teams in Indy Racing League competition. Current co-owners, Dennis Reinbold and Robbie Buhl, first teamed in full-time competition at the Walt Disney World Speedway in January of 2000. With Buhl behind the wheel, the two owners tasted victory in their debut race. The 2009 IndyCar Series season-opener on the streets of St.Petersburg marked Dreyer & Reinbold Racing’s 200th series start. DRR now has over 240 starts to tuck under its belt and has qualified a total of 23 cars for the Indianapolis 500. In its history, the team has boasted a championship list of alumni drivers. Besides Buhl, the team has run Indianapolis 500 winners, Al Unser, Jr., Buddy Lazier, and Buddy Rice, along with IndyCar Series race winner Ryan Briscoe. The team has one of the longest lines of heritage in American open-wheel racing and the Indianapolis 500 as Dennis Reinbold’s grandfather, "Pop" Dreyer, built leading roadsters that raced at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the 30s, 40s, and 50s.
