DARLINGTON, April 27, 2010: For years race fans everywhere have wondered what it might be like to take a lap around NASCAR’s most challenging track – Darlington Raceway. Now, thanks to the Richard Petty Driving Experience and the track “Too Tough To Tame,” they can find out first hand just what it takes to muscle a stock car around the treacherous 1.366-mile egg-shaped oval.

Just hours before an action-packed SHOWTIME Southern 500 gets the green-flag, Darlington Raceway will host high-speed race-day rides for race fans. The Richard Petty Driving Experience will be offering three-lap ride-alongs in a NASCAR-style stock car the morning of the 2010 SHOWTIME Southern 500.

“We are really excited to have the Richard Petty Driving Experience back in 2010 offering race-day rides,” said Darlington Raceway President, Chris Browning. “Hundreds of people took advantage of the ride-alongs last year, and we knew we had to bring them back for 2010. It is truly a unique experience.”

The driving experience will take place on Saturday, May 8, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. To make reservations for this thrilling experience, fans can call 1-800-BE-PETTY or visit the Richard Petty Driving Experience website, www.1800BePetty.com. Fans can book their ride-along experience for just $149.
