WOOTTON AND BARTONE SCORE BIG AT TEXAS MOTORPLEX

                DALLAS,  (April 26, 2010) - In the final results from Texas Motorplex and the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Kristen Wootton, Magnolia, Texas, and Tony Bartone, Long Island City, N.Y., took home the wins in Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car respectively.
Wootton saved her best run of the day for the finals as she covered the quarter mile in 5.336 seconds at 262.13 mph against Monroe Guest, Mannford, Okla., who clocked in at 5.462 seconds, 265.27 mph.
In a who's who matchup in Top Alcohol Funny Car it was No. 1 qualifier Bartone facing off against No. 2 Jay Payne and taking the win with a lap of 5.625 seconds, 257.33 mph in his '09 Mustang.  Payne slowed to an 8.598 second, 101.65 mph lap for his runner up finish.
Other racers visiting the winner's circle this weekend were Ernest Watson, Humble, Texas, in Comp Eliminator; Bill Devine, Allen, Texas, in Super Stock; Kevin Helms, Schriever, La., in Stock Eliminator; Austin Williams, Burleson, Texas, in Super Comp; Jeff Lopez, Bedford, Texas, in Super Gas; and Ray Dew, League City, Texas, in Super Street.  In the division's Top Sportsman class it was Keith Raftery, Lake Charles, La., taking the win while P.J. Vicari, Marrero, La., won in Top Dragster.  In Sportsman Motorcycle presented by Harley Davidson Ben Brown, Irving, Texas took the win.

South Central Division racers head to Tulsa Raceway Park for the next NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event, May 14-16.
