Magna awarded new business with Volkswagen Chattanooga

New supplier park includes two Magna operating units

AURORA, ON, April 26 -- Magna International announced today that four of its operating units have been awarded new business from Volkswagen Group of America (VGoA), two of which will occupy space in the new supplier park Volkswagen is building adjacent to its Chattanooga, Tennessee, assembly facility.

Magna will supply a wide variety of components and systems on Volkswagen's new mid-size sedan, which is estimated to enter production for the U.S. market in 2011. The Magna operating units and awarded content include:

  -   Cosma International -- body and structural components;

  -   Magna Closures -- window regulators and decklid latches;

  - Magna Exteriors and Interiors -- fascias, sealing systems, and B & C
      pillar trim covers; and

  - Magna Seating -- complete seating systems, by way of the recently
      announced Chattanooga Seating Systems joint venture with
      Hollingsworth Logistics, a minority-owned business.

"We are honored to be a supplier to Volkswagen on this program, supporting their Chattanooga operations," said Jim Tobin, Chief Marketing Officer, Magna International. "We are confident our experience and strong track record in supporting new-vehicle launches will exceed expectations and help continue our well established global partnership with VW."

A seat assembly facility, through the Chattanooga Seating Systems joint venture, as well as a Magna Exteriors and Interiors fascia assembly facility will both be located within the park, which will help contribute to local investment and job creation. With its two operations in the supplier park, Magna will have created approximately 140 jobs for the Chattanooga-area economy once the assembly plant reaches full production.
