International Automakers Appoint New Director of State Relations

ARLINGTON, Va., April 21, 2010; The Association of International Automobile Manufacturers, Inc. (AIAM) today announced that Gordon Fry has been appointed the Association's new director of state relations. Fry brings a career of corporate and trade association experience in state government affairs to AIAM.

"Active and effective representation of AIAM member interests at the state level is integral to achieving our Association's overall policy aims," said Michael J. Stanton, president and CEO of AIAM. "Gordon's lobbying experience, expertise in developing and executing legislative strategies, and familiarity with state-level processes, people and organizations, makes him the ideal candidate to fill this position."

Prior to joining AIAM, Fry held senior positions with the District of Columbia Water and Sewer Authority, the American Chemistry Council, the Aluminum Association and the Edison Electric Institute.

"AIAM members have made significant contributions to the U.S. economy, employing more than 90,000 Americans in design, research and development, manufacturing, marketing and finance and other activities.
