Twice as Nice: For two weeks in a row, Goess finished in the second position. The No. 81 began a busy weekend at Texas Motor Speedway showing speed and finished fourth fastest in practice with a speed of 184.074 mph. Rain washed away qualifying, and the starting grid was based on the 2009 ARCA Racing Series car owner point standings. Goess started in the sixth position. The No. 81 ran up front most of the race, especially at the end of the 100-lap race. In a fierce battle, Goess was edged out by Steve Arpin by a mere .326 seconds. Second Showing at Talladega: In Goess' first running at Talladega in 2009, the No. 81 qualified second and was prepared to stay at the top of the leaderboard. An early incident, however, took Goess out of the running with an ignition issue and overheating after the front end received damage. Goess finished in the 30thposition after the tough day. Goess hopes use the momentum from his consecutive runner-up finishes to conquer the 2.66-mile track this weekend. In the Points: Goess' consecutive second-place finishes moved him up to seventh in the ARCA Racing Series points standings and is only 30 points shy of entering the top-five.
