(April 6, 2010) - Frank Kimmel is no stranger to success at Talladega Superspeedway. With five-straight ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards top-six finishes at the 2.66-mile oval, Kimmel looks to extend that streak with a victory in the Talladega ARCA 250 on Friday, April 23. Kimmel, who is a longtime fan of restrictor plate racing, will be looking to add to his superspeedway success this weekend, but he knows that it will not be easy. "I think it will be a reallycompetitive race," Said Kimmel. "There are a lot of good cars, but there are also a lot of unknowns this year because a lot of rookies will be on the race track. I think it will be a very competitive race, and a lot of people will be racing in the lead pack, so it will be pretty exciting." On-track activities for the Talladega ARCA 250 will begin with practice and Menards Pole Qualifying presented by Ansell on Thursday, April 22. Fans will have the opportunity to enjoy a full day of racing action at Talladega as the day will kick off with ARCA Racing Series happy hour at 9:30 a.m. CST before the 250-lap ARCA Racing Series event begins at 6:30 p.m. CST. Lunchbox Frank Kimmel and the No. 44 Ansell/Menards Fast Facts Talladega History: Kimmel comes to Talladega Superspeedway riding a streak of five straight top-six finishes, including a victory in 2006. Last year, Kimmel qualified 13th and drove to a fifth-place finish. About Texas: Frank Kimmel and his No. 44 Ansell/Menards team lassoed a sixth-place finish under the lights in the Rattlesnake 150 at Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) Friday. The finish marked the second-straight top-10 finish of the season for the Ansell/Menards team and gave the team a lot of optimism heading into the remainder of the season. "The day went well," said Kimmel. "Unfortunately, we had some issues on the restarts and stuff. Third gear wasn't working right, so we had to fight through that. Once we got going, it was very, very good. We were a little bit tight on the first run, so we made an adjustment on that and got it much better. By the end of the day, we were just about as good as everyone out there." Chasing the Record Books: If you look at the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards record books, there are not many lists that do not include Frank Kimmel. This season, Kimmel looks to break his own record of nine championships and win a record-setting 10th ARCA Racing Series Championship. His sights are also set on breaking the all-time ARCA win record. With 74 career ARCA victories, Frank is six wins shy of breaking the record held by Iggy Katona. In The Points: Kimmel's sixth-place finish at Texas Motor Speedway moved him up one position in the series point standings. He now stands in ninth position, only 35 markers out of the top-five. Meet Frank Kimmel: Frank Kimmel will join the top-20 ARCA Racing Series drivers in an autograph session at Talladega Superspeedway on Friday, April 23, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Talladega Superspeedway in the concourse area behind the OV Hill South Grandstand, section D & E. Did You Know?: Kimmel's son, Frank Kimmel II, is the most recent addition to the Richard Petty Driving School where he will be a driving instructor for the school. Kimmel drove this chassis to a fifth-place finish at Talladega Superspeedway last year. The Ansell/Menards team also used this car as a backup car at Daytona International Speedway earlier this season. Frank Kimmel Quotes Does being a veteran give you an advantage at a Superspeedway like Talladega? "When you have as much experience at these kinds of tracks as I do, other people tend to trust you more, so they will race with you and help you. When you are in a drafting deal like we are at Talladega, the more cars that are with you, the better you run and the faster you run. I think the younger drivers may trust me more and stay with me rather than battle with me and hang me out where I have to battle for everything by myself because of the fact that I am experienced and have a lot of years doing this." How did testing at Talladega earlier this year help you prepare for this race? "The test went really well. We didn't plan on testing because we were going to use our Daytona car. Since I got in a wreck at Daytona, that car wasn't ready, so we decided to bring this car down and run it. It's the car that we ran at Talladega last year, and we ran pretty well in it. I think it's a good car, I don't know if it's quite as good of a car as we had in Daytona. But it is a good race car, so we should be ok." You have five-straight top-six finishes at Talladega, what do you attribute to that success?
