Bowles brings Childress Institute to 2nd in Phoenix

Bowles takes Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma #31 to second place at Phoenix International

AVONDALE, AZ-  In his first event driving for The San Francisco based Golden Gate Racing Team and Richard Childress Driver Development, Ontario's Jason Bowles muscled his way to second place in the recent Jimmie Johnson Foundation 100 at Phoenix International Raceway. The event was the second leg of the 12 race NASCAR K&N Pro Series West campaign and marked the first time in two years that the GGRT fielded two cars in a speedway event.
            For Bowles and the team, the impressive run meant far more than healthy payoff and a successful return for the defending NASCAR West Champion. Bowles charge to the front brought an outstanding amount of exposure to the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma, the title sponsor of the #31 that is the second car in the Golden Gate Racing-RCR stable for select events in 2010.
            "I'm happy to come back to the west series and finish second in my first race with a new team. I have to thank all of the guys at GGRT, including Jim and Patti Offenbach for this opportunity. It made it extra special to finish up front with the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma on the hood."
            In 2008 Richard and Judy Childress teamed with the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in North Carolina for what will one day become the nation's most comprehensive institute for pediatric trauma. The Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma will focus on key areas in treatment, education and training, research and prevention of pediatric trauma. At this time the Institute is in the development stages.
            As the Institute's goal is to help lead others in the nation that are searching for ways to help save the lives of severely injured children one of the key elements of their campaign is exposure and awareness. Bowles and the Golden Gate Racing Team did plenty in the way of awareness on the Phoenix one mile tri oval. Bowles charged from a 15th place starting spot to second place, finishing behind 2008 series champion Eric Holmes of Escalon.
"We had a great race with Jason behind the wheel of the Golden Gate Racing-RCR #31 car. It was truly a successful team effort with the time that we had to put it all together," said Patti Offenbach, registered owned of the #31 Chevrolet Impala. "We know it is important to run up front to promote the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma and look forward to continued efforts with Jason and the great teamwork that was displayed by this entire crew." 
In 2009, Bowles won the Jimmie Johnson Foundation 100 at Phoenix and after winning the series championship later in the year he decided to venture out to focus on establishing himself in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Teaming with the Golden Gate Racing Team, Bowles picked up right where he left off last year. He not only gained the Childress Institute a great deal of exposure, his returned reminds everyone of his great talents behind the wheel of a race car.

            In addition to the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma, Patti Offenbach's #31 carried the sponsorship of Bay Bio Diesel along with Superior Farms, Golden Gate Meat Company, Harraka Racing Equipment and Oakley Sportswear. Offenbach is appreciative of everyone who supported her first effort as a car owner and is already looking forward to another future event this season.
            It is expected that Bowles and the Golden Gate Racing Team will announce their next scheduled event in the 2010 K&N Pro Series West in the coming weeks. The team will continue to promote the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma in its future endeavors together.
